"I now feel like I have the tools to feel better.  Before I felt a victim to my depression – a dog chasing its tail.  The source of my depression is not what I thought it was: needing more processing, more prayer, more meditation… I thought these would get me out of my depression, but they haven’t. I know the source now and how to treat it biochemically.  I was able to get off the lowest dose, 10 mg of Lexapro, I was on it for 11 months.  I call it “LAXAPRO” and on it I had diarrhea, nausea, stomach cramps, and was not quite as connected.  I was more distanced from my spiritual life - my AA sponsor noticed it, too.

The aminos work immediately, and have the same effect that the Lexapro had as far as limiting negative thoughts, but Lexapro took 5 months before I noticed anything and the aminos worked right away with no side effects. I usually am a sugar binger and lately I have had very little sugar.  There is something a lot easier about not eating sugar and even caffeine.  I used to drink coffee every morning, now I take aminos and vitamins and breakfast.
